Millennium Post:

Millennium Superpost is a design  registered 50 x 50 mm structural grade 6082 high magnesium content Aluminium section with  integrated glazing pockets and exclusive 'Spider Web Structural Core. Posts may be 180º, 90º or single glazed rebate endpost as required in the design configuration. The suite of posts for the Balustrade layouts provides a consistent system approach.

Post Fixing:

Most balustrade post fixings are using a base plate or core hole. Non tested base plates or any form of indirect fixing is non-compliant. These methods are acceptable subject to the integrity of the weld, size of base and type of core setting compound used in the installation are certified. To gain certification for a balustrade component it must be tested by a certified testing lab. Millennium Balustrade fixings and the entire system has been NATA tested and approved. Ramset Anchor Systems conducted the pull tests which is a separate performance test of the anchors.

Millennium Balustrades are directly fixed to substrate without base plates or friction fixings. The two methods of direct concrete fixing are  Machine tapped integral to the parent post  with an M16 Stainless Steel all thread bar secured by Chemical Anchor to the concrete substrate, proprietary offset edge fixed system (in compliance with D2.16 (g) (ii) (A) or embedment such as core hole.  Direct Fixing can also include side fixing of post for example, to an edge beam, edge of slab, structural fascia or structural deck beam. An Engineers report is required to satisfy all Balustrade Installations, this involves sizing stress/ span calculations, site inspections and sign off.

Handrail:

There are 9  proprietary top rails to choose from. Our Top rails as with all of the Millennium Range are No-Weld components, hence no visible fixings.

Bottom Rail:

There are 2 bottom rails to select from. the Mica is a rectangular  profile used in most suites and the Cinca bevel edged profile is used in No-Toe -Hold site conditions. which complies with the foothold criteria of the BCA climbability clause D2.16 (g) (ii) (A) and is able to be secured on the edge of the hob. Both bottom rils have integrated glazing pockets for glass balustrades secured with extruded glazing rubber or our exclusive rigid PVC.

Infill Panels:

Infills to our Millennium Suites may be Glass (up to 10 mm toughened), solid Aluminium panels, Perforated panels or say CNC cut timber paneling.

Performance

The structural integrity of Millennium Balustrades using the Superpost system  conforms to BCA 1170.1 and 1170.2 AS/NZS 1170.1:2002 Structural design actions - Permanent, imposed and other actions and supplement - Commentary AS/NZS 1170.2 Supp 1:2002 Structural design actions - Wind actions - Commentary (c) The "Climbability Clause" restrictions D2.16 (g) (ii) (A) of BCA.
